According to the 2009 Consumer Financial Literacy survey conducted by Harris Interactive, Inc., “41 percent of U.S. adults, or more than 92 million people living in America, gave themselves a grade of C, D, or F on their knowledge of personal finance.” And, only 9% of consumers indicated that they learned about financial literacy in school. Today, as more schools struggle to incorporate meaningful life skills into the required curriculum to meet state standardized testing requirements, banksponsored financial literacy programs are more in demand. To understand the impact of a branded and merchandised financial literacy program provided by banks at the community level, we will discuss a case study of Commerce Bank’s CommerceWOW!Zone” which:

  • Reached over 100,000 students annually
  • Generated $2 million in Young Saver deposits
  • Generated $14 million in Custodial Guardian-related deposits and loans
  • Created a new brand preference and loyalty among K – 12 students
  • Opened doors for Government Banking

Join us to learn how your bank can develop a meaningful community-based program that generates goodwill and measurable business results.
